Sounds great! Does anyone have pictures and building information? I'm ready
to build one.

Using light as an attractant was a topic a couple of years ago and is
probably in the archives. Those light sticks are a little on the expensive
side as I recall. A trick I read maybe 15 years ago was to put a small
flashlight in a waterproof jar in a trap.

Anyone else who builds one, please share.

It looks like a small cloverleaf trap (maybe a foot square) made of
clear acrylic instead of wire. It has four "leaves" and a central tube
into which a cyalume stick is inserted. At the bottom is a
removable tray with wire screen at the bottom, so in order to
remove the fishes you simply pick up the floating trap and undo the
tray. Jan reports no mortalities among captives, and it seems to be
extremely efficient at attracting and capturing small phototropic
organisms. >>
