Ok, folks, this year's Mahoning River Fest will offer a display booth
featureing something a little bit different!... In addition to a display
table that will feature several pieces of NANFA material, and video
features about native fishes, all decorated appropriately, there will be 3
live native fishes displays in aquariums that will closely represent three
habitats found in the Mahoning River watershed, Pool, Riffle, and Riverbank.
Graphics will explain and interpret the signifigance of each habitat. The
aquariums will be situated in what will be a structure made from old barn
wood, that will resemble a shack or some kind of shed. It will look very
rustic, and have a roof covered with old cedar shanks. There will be sound
coming from the display, that will be the sound of streams. A stereo will be
placed in the structure to allow for sound effects. On the outside of the
display will be arrangements of cattails, rock, and tree branches to give
one the feel for the whole habitat of which the fishes are native to. On a
sign hanging from the display... one can read .... "The Watershed"... Get
it???? The display will be appropriatly called "THE WATERSHED".... Anyone
interested can feel free to comment.... Robert Carillio
