Mark and anyone interested in carp and their North American introduction, I
recommend a book called The Coming of the Pond Fishes, written by by Ben Hur
Lampman in 1946. Chapter 2 is called The Captain and the Carp. It's a
non-technical account of fish introductions to the western states. Lampman
was a newspaper writer. It's available all over the Internet last I looked,
and it isn't too hard to even find signed copies.

Chris, do you have this book?
