I hate it when Peter is right ;-)

If you have interest in parasites, check out the enclosed link. The page
is mostly dedicated to human/mamalian parasites, but has a few fish
parasites as well.

I definitely have an anchorworm infestation and will consider my treatment
options.
I may just remove the fish to a treatment tank and use clout or perhaps
even potassium permanganate. Since I don't have any adult females, I
probably brought in some of the napaulii on the plants I collected. It
seems like I caught this in time to avoid a major infestation

Remember that I'm a pharmacist by day, so I have to use a combination of
measuring systems. The metric system is really the only way to do these
calculations without horrid conversion factors. How (or why) somone tried
doing % concentraions using scruples and drams is beyond me.

In case you care, here is a little tutorial on ppm and % concentrations.

ppm = parts per million
remember that 1 ml of water weighs 1 gm (pure water at 20 degrees C).

1 mg/1 liter = 1 ppm

The derivation is:

There are 1000 ml in 1 liter

Since 1 ml of water = 1 gm
there are 1000 gm (1kg) in 1 liter of water

since there are 1000 mg in 1 gm,
there are 1,000,000 mg (1000 * 1000) in 1 kg

Percent is pretty much 'parts per hundred'

% is usually either w/v (weight in volume) or w/w (weight in weight)
Unless specified, gas in liquid is w/v, solids in liquids are w/v, solids
in solids are w/w

so as examples:

1% NaCl in water = 1 gm of NaCl in 100 ml solution

37% hydrochloric acid = 37 gm HCl gas in 100 ml solution
