If you need to know the collecting regulations for your area, the best
place to start is at the NANFA homepage. Webmaster Jay Delong has posted
links to all the state and provincial DNRs. You can look up your state's
DNR, find a few phone numbers, and inquire about what you can take home and
what you can't. Depending on the state, you may be able to take home some
small fish under the bait collecting provisions of a fishing lisence.
