Anybody out there have any experience spawning species of the genus
Lythrurus? I know that L. umbratilis have spawned in outdoor tanks and
holding ponds, but am looking to see if anyone's spawned Lythrurus indoors
in an aquarium. Since some members of the genus are confirmed facultative
nest associates of nest-building minnows and sunfishes, I'm particularly
interested to see if keeping Lythrurus with a spawning pair of sunfish is
the key to getting them to "do their thing" in captivity. Sharing any
experience you have with these minnows will be helpful.

Thanks muchly,
