Hi All.

I am making a wet / dry trickle filter and I want your wisdom.

here is the plan.

1. Circulate water up to the filter with 1 or 2 powerheads (170 hph each)

2. physical / bio filtration over mesh bags of filter floss which will not
be submerged.

3. pass water through different packs of filter floss (all submerged)

4. Run water to my waterfall for airation and to increase surface agitation
of pond.

Questions

1. Does it matter if I heat the water in the filter?
Can I avoid having a heater in the pond by simply heating water in the
filter?

2. Can I use hydroponics as a filtration method by growing plants in tubs
before the water gets to the waterfall (or filter)?
