They don't need to eat right away. In fact, this time of year I don't
expect fish to even _consider_ eating for at least a week after getting
acclimated in from the cold (depending on where you're at, I'm in the
north), regardless of the food. I'd just keep feeding the bloodworms and
let him figure it out. He'll be fine in the meantime.
