Hip boots are good in salt marshes for getting in and out in good order. You
can be stupid and still walk into a mud hole that will suck off your waders
as easily as sneakers. But I know you won't. And in some environments, my
pain threshhold is just plain lower than when I played football. That's the
ugly truth.
