NANFA-- bloodworm allergy

I need some references about the bloodworm allergy discussion of a couple
weeks ago. I read most of the discussion and wondered if it's real or
folklore. I have experienced eye irritation for a while now and stopped
feeding bloodworms for a couple weeks and the irritation went away. I shaved
some frozen bloodworms to feed my killies tonight and now have an eye on the
verge of swelling shut. I think I must have touched my eyelid before washing
my hands. The fish love them and I guess I'll have to wear gloves if this is
the causal agent. Any advice is appreciated.
