NANFA-- m. duboulayi

Hi,
I just read a reference in an Australian rainbowfish site about
Melanotaenia duboulayi, the "urban rainbowfish" having had an
established population in the Mississippi in the mid 1920s. That was an
old aquarium fish introduction.
Does anyone know what happened to this hopefully temporary population?
I've never seen a reference to them being established in US waters, but
I've seen a few Internet threads about Melanotaenia being ideal pond
fish, were it not for their jumping...
