Yes. One native that is said to be toxic to most all life is walnut. If
using it for cabinetmaking purposes, the dust has a very unique, rathing
nasty odor. Just by that I can vouch for its toxicity. The wood itself is
dark brown; unmistakeable when trying to make an i.d.
