I collect pieces of bog wood and no doubt some of them are cypress. I have
one large piece that is probably more 500 years old. It was dug deep out of
peat bog at a construction site about 25 years ago. Only cypress could lay
around here for 25 years and not rot and the place it was found makes me
think it was very old.
