This fish was recently re-introduced by the Division of Wildlife up in the
Crane Creek area. (according to ODNR-DNAP).... It now can vbe found in that
area along the Lake Erie shreline. Roger Thoma, Ohio EPA in Twinsburg may be
able to share a lot of insight on this animal.

As for it's name "Pirate" I don't know, BUT... If you look at the fish, it's
a bit reminescent of the profile of a pirate with a patch! This is what I
see in the fish, as it has always reminded me of an old painting I once had
of a Pirate's facial profile. That's strictly from an artist's point of
view! HA! (That is just my personal opinion.. I have no real clue as to
how it got the name!)
