Small ones like live daphnia but yours should be able to eat frozen
bloodworms or black worms. The main problem in that small ones have trouble
getting their fair share of food. I raised mine from tiny 1/2 inch
individuals to about 6". Now that they are big they can compete with almost
anything. they spend some time buried in the sand but have a real fascination
with any smooth object. One sits in a hollow log and swoops down on his food
from above. They also like to swim up any current or even cruise around in
mid water. Very cool fish!
