It's a matter of what works for you! I use a wierd biofilter from China. It
uses filter pads and ceramic tubes. It's powered by a huge submerged power
head filter. One pipe carries water to the filter the other provides
aeration and strong circulation in the tank. My notti love it and form
schools in the current.
