Stonerollers are excellent algae eaters! In an aquarium, you probably won't
be able to grow enough algae for them. Those algae pellets make a fine food
for them. They also like to graze on wood. I don't know if it's only the
algae on the wood they want, but they do attack driftwood so maybe they want
something more than the algae on the wood.

Stonerollers are not strict vegitarians either. They will pursue all the
regular types (flakes, fozen, freeze-dried) of food but don't go to the
surface to feed so it has to sink at least partway down. And one more nice
feature of stonerollers is that they ignore plants.

Also stonerollers do like current and will spend a lot of their day
"playing" in the current.

Subject: NANFA-- Campostoma needed

Hi all,

A friend of mine wants some Stonerollers for algae control in his
outdoor pond. Can anybody comment on the suitability of
Campostoma for this purpose? Can anybody ship some? He is
willing to pay for them, but is a retired fellow with little income, so
be gentle please!

Prost,

Martin
