Greetings,

I called Mr. Harry Chow, the senior aquarist at the National Aquarium in
D.C., yesterday just to follow up on the NANFA proposal to provide
collection specimens and other items to the aquarium in the future once
they start their conversion to 75 % native fishkeeping.

He mentioned that he has been very busy lately with the construction and
setup of the aquarium's new alligator habitat which by the way was just
unveiled yesterday and will be open for the first time this weekend. He
mentioned that this was a 5 year project which has just come to
fruition.

I asked him if he had any questions concerning the proposal to which he
said that he had none at this time. He stated that two of his
supervisors are aware of the proposal. I then asked when would be a
good time for me to call him again in order to determine if the aquarium
would like to meet with NANFA representatives. He stated that a few
weeks would be good time to check back with him. I told him that I
would call him in a month in order to follow up on the proposal review
status. Hopefully we will be able to meet with the aquarium in the near
future to further discuss our proposal.

It seems that this has become a long drawn out process for which NANFA
will need to show some patience. With many of us being anglers this
should not be difficult. I am still very excited about the prospect of
working with the aquarium in the future, especially since natives will
be showcased. Once again, thanks to all who contributed to the NANFA
proposal.
