Bruce and Steve,

Collecting permits for Alabama are $1.00. The contact person is Keith Guise,
Game and Fish Division, Wildlife Section, 64 N Union St, Montgomery AL
36130. Note that this is for scientific purposes only- but a plain fishing
license (with which you can catch nongame stuff for "bait")is cheap as well.
