I love mag drives for my ponds. They just came out with a 3600 gph pump. The
1800 has worked flawlessly on the gar river pond for the past four and a
half years. The 2400 I have had since last spring. The only thing I had a
problem with that was a bunch of pvc shavings somehow got in the magnet and
jammed it up. Cleaned it out after it seized up hard and it was no worse for
the wear. Had little problems with sand getting in them, the pvc shavings
must be unique in their abilitiy to get in the magnet area. The head is only
18 inches, so I don't know if higher ones are a problem. I have no way of
knowing how much power they use.
