Since I have never seen a hellbender in person (I've caught lots of
mudpuppies, I've even eaten them) if at some point it becomes cool to have a pair of
hellbenders i would be willing to build a new 150 gallon tank to house them and
do my best to breed them. but if the consensus is that they should be left
alone I'm all about that as well. the story of the fishermen killing them by the
hundreds is very disturbing to me but don't really have anything to do with my
desire to keep and breed them. BTW mudpuppies taste like frog. Pollution has
ravaged the mudpuppy population in the Poca River where I used to catch them
and now they are for all practical purposes nonexistent.
