The new issue of Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Magazine (FAMA), Feb. 2004,
has a feature article on spawning the flagfin shiner, Pteronotropis
signipinnis, written byTrey Tabb of south 'bama. Trey goes into exquisite
detail on how he tweaked aquarium conditions to induce spawning by a group
of flagfins. He also describes a unique tactic to fake out a copperhead
trying to bite you and fling it away (really!).

I have a small group of flagfins and they really are a stunning fish. The
good news is that this is a relatively common member of the Pteronotropis
group (after our recent discussion...).

Hey Trey, are you still on this list?
