so what do you think happens to the parasites once they leave the host?

Last I knew, the drugs just paralyze the critters, they don't kill them or
the eggs. I'm not 100% up on the life cycle of the mentioned parasites, but
would it be possible for the fish to be reinfected from eggs in the
environment or even from the expelled parasites?

I'm not saying it would happen, I'm asking if it could. Because if it could
happen, it makes the most sense to treat all your fish in a hospital tank so
the parasites are not expelled into a tank with gravel.
