Subject: Re: NANFA--humor Esox "lacustris"

There is a growing number of people who have found out a dirty secret of
naming of fish. it has been discovered in a secret basement in the desert
south west that an older than dirt man ( 305 years of age purportedly) is
totally in charge of the naming and classification of flora and fauna. he
has a keen interest in messing with the taxonomy of killifish. of course
this is suppressed as rumor and those perpetrating the rumor are said to be
" amateur aquarists and other low brow dummies". It is all great fun for
the old man as he cackles and with advent of computer email spreads his
malice that much faster. Since he has been around for so long no one
questions his letters, and now electronic advice, and goes along with any
changes he makes.

The truth in why we can never get straight answers on fish taxonomy, and
why
the blame always rests on the uninformed aquarists.
