Care to name these rare fish? I've only seen one "rare" species of fish
documented as making a comeback (Silver Chub) and it's *well* documented that
*all* native mussel beds are gone in Lake Erie. Go to Google and put in
"zebra mussel lake erie extirpation" as your criteria.

Next question is... What happens when an actual zebra mussel pathogen shows
up?

Oh my gosh! There's no mussel food source again and the water all goes back
to green.

Congratulations, diversity takes a real hit again.

Monocultures of anything are just plain bad in my book.

I heard that the zebra mussels improved the lakes so much many fish thought
to be rare are making a comeback!
