I think it really depends on the
fish. I would never add
that much salt unless the fish were
stressed or sick, (then I would use that
much salt with a temp increase). I use a tsp
for every five gallons of water, and
have had zero visible fungal or
bacterial problems in the last 7 months.
Some fish, I use no salt at all.
But, to each there own.

Add 1 tsp of salt per gallon of aged water. This helps prevent fungus and
bacteria problems
