I think one of the main problems with transporting fish is overstocking.
You can keep them as cool as you like, but if you have 50 fish in a 10
gallons of water, you're going to have losses. I think having fewer fish in
more containers is the answer. We rarely lose any fish in transport. We
went for 5 or 6 days earlier in the year and didn't lose any fish that I can
remember. I also think that adding some Amquel or Novaqua to the water to
try to remove as much ammonia as possilbe is a great idea. Battery air
pumps are nice, but I can see Mark's point about running warm air through a
container that you are trying to keep cool. Just my thoughts. Dustin
