In my Florida collecting experience, the freshwater canals that have
dense growths of submerged aquatic vegetation are all full of L
goodei. I should admit, though, that I have not done any freshwater
collecting in the Tampa area. Anyway, the L goodei seem to like
dense, fine-leaved vegetation to hang out in.
