Fish collectors -

Here are two sites that you might want to check out before heading into the
field:

www.topozone.com - provides USGS topo maps. Site was reviewed in Mar 2000
issue of Natural History magazine.

www.epa.gov/surf/ - allows you to "Surf Your Watershed." This site provides
drainage maps, environmental information, current river stage, hydrographs
(recent and historical) of gaged streams in the US. Its an incredible
resource!

Together, these sites can help you find and describe collecting localities,
and determine whether collecting conditons are favorable or not.

P.S. Intended to post these several months ago but apparently did not (or I
did post them and am now suffering a "senior moment"). If they are already
common knowledge, ignore this message.
