I checked the site. These are the producers of the "Georgia Giant" hybrid
sunfishes! I've seen them advertised years ago in Outdoor Life & other sport
magazines. They definitely are monsters - they look like they might be a cross
between bluegill and redear sunfish AKA shellcracker but the history section did
not state the exact parentage - I suppose because they don't want anyone else to
repeat their success. The hybrid is patented.

After reading their recommendations fo poisoning the pond and replacing with new
stock every three generations or so - I'd pass on stocking them. I'd rather see a
body of water managed in a more sustainable fashion - perhaps slot limits or
selective return of exceptional specimens to the water to enhance natural panfish
populations than scrap a whole pond and start over.

Of course this might be appropriate for stocking pay lakes, but I'd rather catch
real bluegills and maybe someday a record breaking pumpkinseed!
