I take your point, Martin, that there are some people we'll never reach or
convince; the editors of the editorial page of the _Wall Street Journal_
come to mind immediately. I could argue with Rush's arguments above, about
local peasants with chainsaws being incapable of cutting down the planet's
rainforests. The truth is, these peasants aren't alone, that multinational
timber companies do much of the damage. But that would be private enterprise
doing the forests a favor by pruning them because natural processes are too
stupid to manage the forests correctly(?!?).
So I think we have to accept confrontation for the near future. But you
don't have to confront everyone, merely the aggressively ignorant...
