OK gang,

we're on.

Sipsey National Wild and Scenic River. Saturday 4 August. Meet at the AL Hwy
33 bridge (roughly 4 mi NE of Double Springs) at 11am.

I'm still checking into campsites, preferably a big sandbar to hang out on,
but wanted to get the date set. There are motels in both Double Springs and
Haleyville for those who don't want to camp, or in Jasper if you want
something really plush. Winston County is dry, so if you want to indulge in
a few beers around the campfire, bring them with.

As long as we don't have any freak storms, the river should be clear, so if
you have snorkelling gear, bring it along.

Remember that this is Alabama, and in August it's going to be steenkin' hot,
so if you plan on transporting fish, make sure you have a way to keep them
cool and happy.

On Sunday 5 August, some of us may head north, jump the divide into the
Tennessee River system, and play around in Lauderdale County. Anyone is
welcome to tag along... ought to see some good stuff.

cheers,
Dave
