I would like to quote page 581 of the book FRESHWATER FISHES OF VIRGINIA by
Robert Jenkins and Noel Burkhead.

quote page 581:

Food habits of brown trout vary .....
Larger fish seek larger food items and are often dominantly piscivorous. In
a Virginia stream, brown trout larger than 280 mm TL exhibited the shift to
fishes, taking a variety of species .... We found a 500-mm TL brown trout
that had suffocated by engulfing a 330-mm brown. the head of the latter
extended into the stomach and the anterior body filled the gill cavity of
its captor....

end of quote.
