I have not got to go Salmon fishing here yet. Most of my fishing has been
for trout and bass. But I know several people who go regularly and they seem
to do ok. I think its a matter of knowing where the good spots are and
technique. Some of these guys have been here all there lives and grown up
fishing for Salmon. I know the laws on sturgeon are different than most fish
too. They have to fall within a size range to be able to keep them. If they
are too small you have to through them back and if they are too big you have
to through them back. It makes sense, because as I understand it, it takes
years for them to come into breeding size. I have never ate sturgeon, but I
love Salmon, especially when its smoked. As for catfish, I have never ate a
catfish that I thought tasted very good so I avoid them.
