What a great convention! I wish I would have had the chance to do all four
field trips. Thanks especially to Bruce for organizing the convention and
for having me ride with him on the trip to the Sipsey Fork. It was fun to
get a history of the area as we passed through different counties and towns.
The snorkeling in the Sipsey was awesome, I can't believe how great the
visibility was after all of that rain.

On Sunday, I went to the Paint Rock and got to see all of the Blotchside
Logperch at the Estill Fork. I also saw the Spotted Gar that was seen by
the group the previous day. Further down stream I got a Streamline Chub in
my transparent dip net. That net is my new favorite collecting device,
although small darters can make it through the mesh.

I'm sure the organizers my feel otherwise, but I wish the convention could
have lasted a couple of more days. It was really depressing late Sunday
afternoon when the hotel was all but deserted.

I look forward to next year's convention in South Carolina. For once I
might actually fly to this get-together, it's too long a drive even for me.
