Jay I didn't imply any of the things you accused me of. I agree totally that
introduction Of nonnative species is a mistake but get a grip. Most species
from vastly different water systems are not going to take over the North
American continent. If you took away all the introductions by well meaning
officials and people in the know and just list those introduced by hobbyists
the problem wouldn't go away but it would be a lot less severe. as for the
whirling disease I count it as fish and game not private nobodies like me.
I'm sorry I misread what was said about the neon but the implication was
there. neons and most other south American fish need a lot more than just
warm water to spawn. Conditions like those needed by most of soft acid water
loving fish just don't exist here.
