The 2003 NANFA Convention in Huntsville, AL, approaches--Friday, June 6 -
Sunday, June 8.

For hotel reservations on the campus of the University of Alabama in
Huntsville, the site of the convention: call 256-721-9428 or toll-free
888-721-9428. Identify yourself as part of the NANFA convention to take
advantage of reduced rates that weekend. I heard that one or two people
called and had some confusion with the reservations desk, which I think has
been cleared up.

Also, the speakers list for Friday, June 6, includes Randy Haddock, field
director of the Cahaba River Society, talking about efforts to preserve this
important Alabama river.

And for those of you who REALLY want to deal with the Cahaba River, the
CahabaFest is happening the weekend of the convention, June 7 and 8. It
looks like on Sunday we may try to facilitate NANFA convention participants
to drive down to the site of CahabaFest on the river and participate in an
effort by professional biologists to collect and identify as many fish
species as possible at a sandbar in the river.

Check the NANFA web site for information about the convention, or contact me
directly at fundulus_at_hotmail.com or 256-824-6992.
