What bothers me is the senselessness of it. I used to hunt regularly, but I
was a terrible deer hunter. I couldn't sit still for all that long a period
of time and a hate the cold. Small game, rabbit, pheasant, grouse, and even
squirrel once in a while, was what I really enjoyed. But, the farms where we
hunted were eventually developed, and some of my hunting buddies quit, so I
just drifted out of it.
Now, I did not become anti-gun since I stopped, I've always been anti-stupid
and none of my hunting freinds ever got away with any thing stupid, like
shooting at a tree or somrthing that was not game. They knew the would get
too much grief, particularly from me. We always ate what we shot and we
didn't shoot anything just for laughs. I guess that is what bothers me the
most about that video, shooting something just for laughs. I think it takes
an awfully small-minded person to kill just for laughs.
I know that varmint shooting is considered a legitamite sport, but
personally it never appealed to me. I certainly don't consider turtle to be
a varmint.
