To those who really give it some thought, and pursue these threads to their
logical conclusion, these "off-topic" issues are entirely, 100% relevant to
native fish keeping. They in fact go to the very heart of the matter. Maybe
I'm just WAY too philosophical and analytical about issues which are inherently
emotional...for example, varmint shooting is directly related to our position on
exotics (e.g. Ash Meadows), if anybody would put emotional concerns aside.

I've put a fair amount of energy and other resources into the club myself,
especially considering how little I have to share. A lot of other members, who
have never served in any official capacity, have done the same. I think a lot
of them are cowed by those who claim higher credentials. As for a "friendly"
list, I am pretty confidant that I have never attacked anybody for stating an
opinion which counters mine. I may attack their position, but never the person.
If we all agree on everything, then there isn't really much left to talk about,
is there?
