Hello everyone,
Today my dad and I decided to go to South Haven, its a small town
with a few beaches, located on the east shore of Lake Michigan. The wind was
very strong, and pretty cold as well. As far out as we could see, waves were
whitecapping. I felt the water once, and it was still very cold, being the
deep gigantic clear lake that it is. The reason for the trip was to get some
good driftwood. There was an abundance of driftwood of all shapes, sizes and
shades. I was specifically looking for a 30" piece of driftwood to go
lengthwise in a 29 gallon tank. I found that, and dozens of other nice pieces
to go in the same tank, and maybe the stream tank. The only reason we stopped
roaming the shores was because we both had very bad ear aches from the wind.
After some dune exploring, we left with a lot of good driftwood. I have one
problem, though. How do you clean and boil a 40" long peice of driftwood? Do
you have to boil it neccesairily? Thanks, good collecting! _Dan
