When I brought in some larger wild crappie, I conditioned them to
nightcrawlers and shrimp by adding them in when I dumped in minnows that
I'd seined up. It took about a month before they'd respond solely to
the easier-to-store foods, but like you, I had all summer to get them
conditioned over and it gave me a weekly reason to get out and do some
fishin' :)

I'd imagine you could condition to pellets or freeze-dried in the same
way, it'd just take a little longer.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to feed Black
Crappies? We have a group of four wild fish about 6".
They have been placed in a 275 Gal tank of mixed
panfish (pumpkinseeds, perch, bluegill). THe other
fish readily feed on various types of prepared food
but the Crappies ignore all.

Any suggestions?

Bob
