for those attending the nanfa convention...
for the 2nd time of late i will be scouting huntsville for a possible 4th
region to explore. i have had several conversations w/ scott mettee on other
possible locales... some of which i will expolre this memorial day weekend. we
will be dividing the nanfa conference group into 3 and maybe 4 subgroups to
minimize impact on selected sites and logistics such as parking and keeping the
caravans together. please have your al fishing licenses and gas tanks full before
we leave sat morn. also we need to buddy up or even triple up to keep
vehicles to a minimum. a lot of folks are already registered and we are expecting
plenty more. this could be the biggest attended yet.

this weekend i will be crossing the tn divide to the south which will be into
the mobile drainage... many new fishes as opposed to 2 other sites... the
paint rock and the flint... both which drain to the tn river.
bruce is looking at another option... perhaps the sipsey which is also the
mobile drainage but a bit far in my opinion. we are trying to be chose sites to
minimize drive time yet stilll provide interesting flora and fauna. all this
area is nice tho some waters have been impacted and damaged by human
activities. ( flint and paintrock are nearby and very nice... some of my fav to snorkle
). high water is the current situation in north alabama these days. our hope
is it will recede before the convention forays.

i also want to urge all attendies to bring items of interest to fellow
members... local snacks and drinks from your home region ( im bringing a case of
moon pies... baked here in chattanooga ), fish videos to watch in the evenings,
old gear to trade, give away or auction off, fish and plants to trade, etc.

looking good!
