One thing is for sure they make the best fish bait in the world. I once
caught two gunny sacks full of channel catfish in one afternoon on them. Broad
daylight had these channel cats on the surface eating these bugs as fast as they
could gulp them down. I always liked the sound too. There is a yearly variety
too so-in-certain times of the year you can here the "jar flies" every year.
But only the 17 and 13 year kind number in the billions.
