an independent basis and applies professional biological knowledge and
techniques in reviewing projects including construction in a floodway

projects that have state and federal monies involved. Said projects are
reviewed to ensure that fish, wildlife and botanical resources as well as
scenic beauty are fully considered in project planning. The Department of
Natural Resources, Division of Fish and Wildlife is specifically required to
protect fish and wildlife and wildlife resources for the citizens of

Statewide Environmental Biologist

This position works with County Drainage Boards, County Surveyors, Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission and permits for Construction in a Floodway,
Ditch Act Permits, and other environmental reviews.

Much of the work involves looking-in-streams and regulated drains and
conditioning permits to ensure that fish, wildlife and botanical resources
are considered and protected to the best of our ability.

This position works out of Indianapolis but covers the entire state. A good
job for a well rounded ecologist.
