NANFA-- not entirely off topic-How to disinfect life plant?

I have a huge water sprite that grows well in the tank that, unfortunately, has snail
and some fishes in there had died from bacterial disease [tuberculosis?]. I wonder
that are there any way to disinfect this water sprite from the bacteria that may cause
disease and snail/egg so I can use this plant for other tanks? Will the water
sprite's above-water parts still have disease-causing bacteria in/outside? For me
this is quite serious since funny through it sound I do not find any water sprite for
sale around my area.
