I witnessed something odd today, or maybe not odd but I was not aware of
this. I have a container I keep worms I collect from the garden and off the
lawn. Its all sizes from big nightcrawlers down to small earthworms the size
of blackworms. I was feeding the fish and salamanders and noticed that the
night crawler had something sticking out of its mouth. I thought maybe it
was part of its gut since it may have been damaged when I pulled it from the
ground. I gave a tug on it and out popped a small worm still alive. Never
seen this before.
