Years ago I took several canoe trips from L. Superior north to James bay and
salt water. Several of the rivers were very muddy and the rivers were our
drinking water. No filters back then straight out of the river. Muddy water
really doesn't taste bad if you ever drove down a dusty dirt road you know
what it taste like. In the clear water you could see all those swimmers,
that bothered some people more.
