I asked the Clean Water Foundation a few questions:

1) What will happen to the data collected (who will analyze it; what will
become of it) ?
2) Will this be an annual event (similar to the Audubon Society's Christmas
Bird Count) ?
3) If so, will date be approximately the same each year ?

Allan Stokes replied:

The data collected for temperature, pH, turbidity/clarity and DO from
monitoring day events associated with the National Water Monitoring Day
should be entered into the National Water Monitoring Day database available
through the Year of Clean Water web site. The America's Clean Water
Foundation assisted by a work group of state and federal environmental
officials will use this data to prepare a "snapshot" report on the event and
its findings.

We plan on this being an annual event to run during the same time of each
year.
