2008 NANFA National Convention, Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, Athens, TX September 25-28, 2008Ya'll are invited to the 2008 NANFA conference in Athens, Texas. The conference is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones who are just as enthusiastic about native fish. The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center (TFFC) combines aquaria and educational opportunities with a production fish hatchery. The mission of the TFFC is to provide an educational, entertaining visitor experience that promotes freshwater sport fishing and the enhancement, conservation and stewardship of aquatic resources in Texas. TFFC is a facility of the Inland Fisheries Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), the state agency charged with the management and conservation of the natural and cultural resources of Texas. Everything is bigger in Texas and that includes this years conference. There will be four exciting days with events for everyone. This year we have included a social Friday night at TFFC for anyone who wants to attend. There will be a chili cook-off dinner to allow NANFA members an exclusive tour of the facility. There will be guided tours of both the visitor center and the hatchery and a dive show . Also Friday night there will be an aquarium roundtable for anyone who wants to sit back and relax and talk about fish. We will have representatives from some of the big aquariums around the state.
