<< I thought that stunting was due to some chemical or substance given off by
the fish themselves. Such that if given frequent water changes stunting
could be avoided to a great extent. Is that so? >>
I have raised several sunfish on trout pellets over the years that exceeded
10 inches. I think the stunting is done by too small a tank and accumulation of
waste products. Frequent major water changes and a 100 gallon or larger tank
seem to produce fish as big in captivity as they get in the wild.
